Ko Rebekah rāua ko Jess tuakana, teina, māmā, hoa pakihi.

Hiwa & Awa Co. started with two pēpi (Awariki & Hiwa), born just four days apart… and two very tired sisters with big dreams (and even bigger hair buns 😅).

We wanted more than just cute baby things we wanted taonga. Designed here in Aotearoa, Our mission is to create meaningful Māori designed pieces where design is more than pattern it is storytelling. Every curve, line, koru, and tāniko shares whakapapa and pūrākau, honouring the hononga between pēpi and their whānau. Helping our whānau draw closer to there Māoritanga.

We are two sisters from a whānau of six daughters, raising seven tamariki between us.

By day, we’re a kaiako and a nurse. By heart, we’re building something for our tamariki to show them that when you back your dreams and stay focused, anything is possible.
